ISEA PAS Curculionidae and Chrysomelidae Collection

This dataset that contains primary occurrence data for species.

Description

The major part of the database contains faunistic data extracted from the Curculionidae collection of the late prof. Stanisław Smreczyński who was the world renown specialist on this group of coleopterans. Most of the specimens come from the present areas of Poland and Ukraine albeit with a significant admixture of European fauna. The majority of them have been collected in the first half of the XX century. The second much smaller part of the database contains data on the family Chrysomelidae from Poland. In total, the database consists of more than 40.000 unique faunistic records extracted from dry, pinned specimens (approximately 34.000 of Curculionidae and 6.000 of Chrysomelidae).tórzyć sekcję i dodać kolejne akapity
