Collections paléontologiques de l'Université Rennes 1

This dataset that contains primary occurrence data for species.

Description

This dataset concern the specimens registered in our paleontological collections estimated to 800 000 fossils. Collections were built since the 19th century by collects, donations or purchases and constitute a global knowledge for the paleobiodiversity through times. Some specialities were developped about the palaeontology of the Paleozoic in the Armorican massif and to a lower level in Europe and North Africa (Barrande, Bézier, Chauvel, Crépin, Destombes, Deunff, Henry, Hupé, Kerforne, Lardeux, Milon, Morzadec, Philippot, Picquenard, Renaud, Racheboeuf, Rouault, Seunes, Vannier...). We have also a great number of Cenozoic molluscs and vertebrates from the Paris and Aquitaine basin but also from West of France (Allix, Brébion, Crié, Du Laurens de la Barre, Harcouët de Keravel, Le March'adour, Néraudeau, Sacher, Sirodot...). Mesozoic times are principally represented by fossils from Normandy to Charente (West of France), Pyrenees and Burgundy.
